I am a practical programmer with many years of experience in both the public sector and in private enterprise.

After leaving the IT Department of a multinational company I spread my wings into the private enterprise arena with some success.

I am currently working in a range of areas including: Bespoke Programming and contract work. Using a range of developer tools primarily deployed within a Visual Basic framework I have developed a range of solutions for industrial and commercial organisations.

Solutions range from a sophisticated plant control system used in the nuclear industry to a room booking system for a local agricultural college.

DBA

I have a great deal of experience with all types of database development and maintenance. In particular I have full DBA qualifications in Oracle 7.

Network database administration and deployment were one of the many skills I acquired during my years of employment.

Beefbase Pedigree

Commercially I have developed a cattle management system called BeefBase which allows the beef farmer to manage his pedigree herd and record cattle movements in full compliance with BCMS requirements. For further details please click here.
